In the development process of Daedalic Entertainment's computer- and videogame adaptation of Ken Follett’s bestseller novel “The Pillars of the Earth”  were over 300 people involved, some of those for more than three years. “The Pillars of the Earth”, an adaptation of the historical novel by Ken Follett, is a one-of-a-kind, interactive novel and reinvents a new entertainment genre. The development team took the 1200-page novel as the blueprint and turned it into an interactive novel. Players follow a nonlinear storyline with three playable main characters: Philip, Jack, and Aliena. The game provides a compelling and involving version of “The Pillars of the Earth”. Players develop a deep emotional connection with the characters while controlling their way through the dense and thrilling story. Moreover, the game lets players change events from the novel as well as influence the fates of its characters.

The second book of "The Pillars of the Earth - Sowing the Wind" will be released on December 2017 for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One™, book 3 "The Eye of the Storm" in Q1 2017.
